Ever downloaded a Hollywood flick from the internet?

If the answer is 'yes' then you could be next on Rambo's hit list.

So goes the first two sentences in a recent article entitled'The BitTorrent lawsuit: Why Sly Stallone is out to get you' ... and his figurative arm can cross international borders, not only into Australia, but right here to Bond University.

That's because it is illegal to download a movie, or a TV show or music using BitTorrent, or any other Peer to Peer (P2P) file sharing program, without gaining permission from the copyright owner. And the copyright owners of The Expendables and other US movies are flexing their ownership muscles.

Also it is important to know that downloading copyright material using the Bond network is a breach of the
Student Acceptable Use of ICT Facilities Policy and may result in disciplinary action and having your IT account suspended.

So, make yourself aware of your obligations and the risks and don't let Rambo track you down.
