New computer labs now open

After significant refurbishment over the past few months, the southern part of the Computer Lab precinct is now open for use.

As well as the refurbished computer labs, this area also features two next-generation tutorial rooms which are quite different to other tutorial rooms on campus:

Tutorial Room 22 (Snake room) features a curvy, snake-like table with 14 chairs, a fully automated AV fit-out and flexible ottoman style furnishings to allow for informal breakout sessions. The room has been designed to facilitate easy student-teacher access and some group interactions.

Tutorial Room 23 (Board room) is designed to simulate business and meeting interactions in a boardroom style set up. The room has a large table with 16 chairs and AV fit out with laptop input capability from either end of the table. As the teacher is not separated from the students (which is the case in more traditional rooms), the design encourages more peer-to-peer learning experiences.

If you'd like to check out these brand new facilities, the entrance to this area is at the bottom of the arch, on the side nearest to the new amphitheatre.
